The zoning approval empowers AltMed to move forward with planning and construction of facilities designed to provide medical cannabis to patients in Florida. Construction will begin as soon as AltMed is granted a medical cannabis licence by the State.
The nursery location is east of I-75 and is zoned Open Use Estates-1. The official letter from the county confirms that AltMed’s plan to proceed with cultivation, processing and dispensing of medical cannabis under Bill 1030, the Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act of 2014, is considered “a permitted use for the district.”
