What is THC Badder, How Is It Made, & How Do You Smoke It?

By Danyal Swan February 23, 2024

If you're a cannabis enthusiast, you may have come across various cannabis products and extracts. One notable extract is THC distillate. Leveraged in everything from vapes to topicals, edibles to syringes, the versatile extract has been a mainstay in the cannabis space for decades. But what is THC distillate, how is it made, and what are the different ways to use it?

What Is THC Badder?

THC badder is a type of cannabis concentrate known for its creamy consistency and high potency. It is an extract with a soft, malleable texture, like cake batter. This versatile concentrate contains high levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive compound found in cannabis, providing users with potent effects.

How Is THC Badder Made?

The production of THC badder involves a process called extraction, which involves the separation of valuable compounds from the plant material. Here are the key steps involved in making THC badder:

  1. Extraction: The process begins by extracting cannabinoids and terpenes from the cannabis plant using solvents such as butane, propane, or CO2. This extraction process results in a highly concentrated oil known as "crude" oil.
  2. Purging: The crude oil is then purged of residual solvents and impurities through a process that involves applying heat and vacuum. This step removes any leftover solvents and ensures a clean and safe final product.
  3. Whipping: After purging, the oil is whipped vigorously to create air pockets, giving it a light and fluffy texture. This whipping process is what gives THC badder its creamy consistency.
  4. Drying and Curing: The whipped oil is then allowed to dry and cure, usually in a controlled environment. This process further solidifies the concentrate and enhances its texture.

What Does Cannabis Badder Look Like?

THC badder has a unique appearance that sets it apart from other cannabis concentrates. It has a creamy, butter-like consistency and can range in color from light yellow to amber, depending on the specific strain used and the extraction process. Its malleable texture makes it easy to work with and portion for consumption.

How Potent is THC Badder

THC badder, like other cannabis concentrates, is known for its high potency due to its concentrated form. The THC levels in badder can range from around 60% to 90%, making it extremely potent. Genetics and how the quality of the flower used will play a significant role in how potent THC badder is once the final process in extraction is complete.

THC Badder vs. Budder: What's The Difference?

Badder and budder are often mentioned together, but they have some subtle differences in terms of texture and consistency. While both concentrates have a creamy and malleable texture, budder tends to be a bit softer and creamier, resembling butter. Badder, on the other hand, is slightly firmer and thicker, more like cake batter. Both provide similar potency and effects, so the choice between the two usually comes down to the personal preference of the user.

How Do You Smoke Badder?

Smoking THC badder is a popular method of consumption, thanks to its potency and flavorful experience. Here's how you can smoke THC badder:

Tools Needed for Smoking Badder with a Dab Rig

  • Dab Rig: A specialized water pipe designed for vaporizing concentrates.
  • Dab Tool: A small metal tool used to handle and apply the badder.
  • Butane Torch: Used to heat the nail or banger of the dab rig.

Here's a step-by-step guide on dabbing THC badder:

  1. Heat the nail: Use a butane torch to heat the nail or banger of your dab rig until it reaches the desired temperature. The ideal temperature for smoking THC badder is between 315 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (157 to 232 degrees Celsius).
  2. Apply the badder: Use a dab tool to scoop a small amount of THC badder and place it on the heated nail or banger. The heat instantly vaporizes the badder, producing a potent and flavorful vapor.
  3. Inhale and enjoy: Place your mouth on the mouthpiece of the dab rig and inhale slowly while simultaneously moving the dab tool around the heated nail or banger to ensure all the badder is vaporized. Take small, controlled inhalations to savor the flavor and effects.

Other Ways to Smoke Badder

There are a few other methods users can use to smoke cannabis badder outside of a traditional dab rig:

  1. E Rig: For precise temperature control, e-rigs offer a great option for smoking THC badder and other cannabis concentrates.
  2. Dab Pen: Offering a more discreet and portable smoking experience, THC badder can be utilized in most dab pens currently on the market. Simply load it into the chamber, choose the desired heat setting, and you're on your way to a solid smoking experience.
  3. Using With Flower: THC badder can be infused with cannabis flower by sprinkling it in a bowl or mixing it with a joint or blunt.
