Instead, we recommend crushing the Caramels and pressing the pieces atop each ball of cookie dough.  

Preheat your oven to 325°F. Cream together your softened butter and both sugars in a bowl with tall sides (to prevent flour spillage) until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beating, then slowly stir in vanilla.
